DTC Confirmation Test (Using CONSULT-II)
CAUTION:
Never remove fuel filler cap during DTC confirmation procedure.
NOTE:
If DTC P1448 is also set, diagnose that DTC first. See DTC P1448: EVAP CANISTER VENT CONTROL VALVE OPEN .
NOTE:
Make sure that EVAP hoses are connected to EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve properly.
NOTE:
Perform DTC WORK SUPPORT when the fuel level is between 1/4 to 3/4 full and vehicle is placed on flat level surface. Open engine hood before conducting the following procedures.
- Tighten fuel filler cap securely until ratcheting sound is heard. Turn ignition switch ON.
- Turn switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds. Turn ignition switch ON and select DATA MONITOR mode with CONSULT-II.
- Make sure that the following conditions are met:
- COOLAN TEMP/S is 32-158°F (0-70°C).
- INT/A TEMP SE is 32-140°F (0-60°C).
- Select EVAP SML LEAK P0442/P1442 of EVAPORATIVE SYSTEM in DTC WORK SUPPORT mode with CONSULT-II.NOTE: If engine speed cannot be maintained within range displayed on CONSULT-II screen, perform BASIC INSPECTION. See ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS article.
- Make sure that OK is displayed. If NG is displayed, select SELF-DIAG RESULTS mode and make sure that EVAP GROSS LEAK (P0455) is displayed. If it is displayed, refer to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If DTC P0442 is also set, diagnose that DTC first. See DTC P0442: EVAP CONTROL SYSTEM SMALL LEAK DETECTED (NEGATIVE PRESSURE) .
