DTC Confirmation Test (Using CONSULT-II)

NOTE: Open hood before conducting the following procedure. DO NOT keep engine at specified speeds longer than the specified times.
  1. Start engine and warm it up to the normal operating temperature. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds. Start engine and keep the engine speed between 3500-4000 RPM for at least 1 minute under no-load. Let the engine idle for 1 minute and open engine hood. Select DTC & SRT CONFIRMATION then SRT WORK SUPPORT mode with CONSULT-II.
  2. Rev engine up to 2000-3000 RPM and hold if for 3 consecutive minutes then release the accelerator pedal completely. If INCMP of CATALYST changes to CMPLT, go to
  3. Wait 5 seconds at idle. Rev engine up to 2000-3000 RPM and maintain it until INCMP of CATALYST changes to COMPLT. It will take approximately 5 minutes. If CMPLT is not displayed, go to the next step.
  4. Stop engine and cool to less than 158°F (70°C). Turn ignition switch ON and select COOLANTEMP/S in DATA MONITOR mode with CONSULT-II. Start engine and warm it up while monitoring COOLANTEMP/S indication on CONSULT-II. When COOLANTEMP/S indication reaches 158°F (70°C), retest from step  1. Select SELF-DIAG RESULTS mode with CONSULT-II.
  5. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If 1st trip DTC is not detected, system is okay at this time.
