DTC Confirmation Test (Using Generic Scan Tool)

Start engine and warm to operating temperature. Turn ignition off for 10 seconds. Start engine and keep RPM at 3500-4000 RPM for at least one minute with no load. Allow engine to idle for one minute. Select MODE 3 with scan tool. If DTC is detected, go to appropriate DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE. If DTC is not detected, system is okay at this time.
