DTC Confirmation Test
Depending on equipment available, use one of the following procedures to set DTC:
- If using scan tool, start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Using DVOM, measure voltage (backprobe) between ground and terminal No. 63 (Red/Yellow wire) at ECM harness connector. See Figure. Ensure voltage is less than 4.2 volts. Turn ignition off and wait at least 5 seconds. Start engine and let idle for at least 20 seconds. Select MODE 7.
- If using MIL, start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Using DVOM, measure voltage (backprobe) between ground and terminal No. 63 (Red/Yellow wire) at ECM harness connector. See Figure. Ensure voltage is less than 4.2 volts. Turn ignition off and wait at least 5 seconds. Start engine and let idle for at least 20 seconds. Turn ignition off and wait at least 5 seconds.
