Overall Function Test

Raise drive wheels and support vehicle. Start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. With A/C off and transmission in Drive, increase engine speed from 2000 RPM to 4000 RPM. Ensure EGR valve lifts up without sticking. If EGR valve does not operate normally, go to PROCEDURE. If EGR valve operates normally, diagnose EGR temperature sensor or circuit failure.
