Neutral Position Switch System Test
- Turn ignition on. Check voltage between ECM harness connector terminal No. 44 (Yellow/Blue wire) and ground. Move shift lever through gears. In Neutral position, zero volts should be present. In all other positions, approximately 5 volts should be present. If voltage is not as specified, go to next step. If voltage is as specified, system is functioning properly.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECM and Neutral position switch harness connectors. Check continuity between ECM harness connector terminal No. 44 (Yellow/Blue wire) and Neutral position switch harness connector (Yellow/Green wire). Continuity should exist. If continuity does not exist, repair open wire(s) or connectors. If continuity exists, check Neutral position switch. See NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH .
