Wastegate Valve Control Solenoid System Test (300ZX Turbo)

  1. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and each wastegate valve control solenoid harness connector Black/Red wire. Solenoids are located below right and left intake manifold collector. Battery voltage should be present. If battery voltage is present, go to step 3). If battery voltage is not present, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Check Green fusible link, located in fusible link box near battery. Check 10-amp fuse in relay box, located at left front corner of engine compartment. Check harness continuity between wastegate valve control solenoids and ignition switch. Check harness continuity between ignition switch and battery positive terminal. If continuity does not exist, repair circuit as necessary.
  3. Turn ignition off. Check continuity between ECM harness connector terminal No. 25 (Sky Blue wire) and each wastegate valve control solenoid harness connector Sky Blue wire. See Figure and Figure . Continuity should exist. If continuity exists, check solenoid. See WASTEGATE VALVE CONTROL SOLENOID TEST (300ZX TURBO). If continuity does not exist, repair or replace harness or connectors as necessary.
