DTC Confirmation Procedure

Never remove fuel filler cap during DTC confirmation procedure.

  1. CHECK DTC PRIORITY 

    If DTC P0451 is displayed with other DTC, first perform the confirmation procedure (trouble diagnosis) for other DTC.

    Is applicable DTC detected?

    YES >>: Perform diagnosis of applicable. Refer to DTC INDEX

    NO >>: GO TO 2 

  2. PRECONDITIONING 

    If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always perform the following procedure before conducting the next test.

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
    2. Turn ignition switch ON.
    3. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.

    With M.U.T.-III SE >>

    GO TO 3 

    With GST >>

    GO TO  6

  3. PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE 
    1. Turn ignition switch ON.
    2. Check 1st trip DTC.

    Is DTC detected? 

    YES >>: Refer to DTC DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE .

    NO >>: GO TO 4 

  4. PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-II 

    With M.U.T.-III SE

    1. On M.U.T.-III SE screen, select "ENGINE" >> "Data List" >> "EVAP DIAG READY".
    2. Let it idle until "OFF" of "EVAP DIAG READY" changes to "ON".

      It will take at most 2 hours until "OFF" of "EVAP DIAG READY" changes to "ON".

    3. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 90 minutes.
      NOTE: Never turn ignition switch ON during 90 minutes.
    4. Turn ignition switch ON.
    5. On M.U.T.-III SE screen, select "ENGINE" >> "Data List" >> "EVAP LEAK DIAG".
    6. Check that "EVAP LEAK DIAG" indication.

    Which is displayed on M.U.T.-III SE? 

    CMPLT >>

    GO TO 5 

    YET >>

    1. Perform DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE again.
    2. GO TO  2
  5. PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-III 

    With M.U.T.-III SE

    Check 1st trip DTC.

    Is DTC P0451 detected? 

    YES >>: Proceed to DTC DTC DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE .

    NO-1 >>

    To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to INTERMITTENT INCIDENT .

    NO-2 >>

    Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END.

  6. PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-IV 

    With GST

    1. Start engine and let it idle for least 40 seconds.
      NOTE: Do not depress accelerator pedal even slightly.
    2. Check 1st trip DTC.

    Is DTC P0451 detected? 

    YES >>: Proceed to DTC DTC DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE .

    NO >>: GO TO 7 

  7. PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-V 

    With GST

    1. Let it idle for at least 2 hours.
    2. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 90 minutes.
      NOTE: Never turn ignition switch ON during 90 minutes.
    3. Turn ignition switch ON.
    4. Check 1st trip DTC.

    Is DTC P0451 detected? 

    YES >>: Proceed to DTC DTC DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE .

    NO-1 >>

    To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to INTERMITTENT INCIDENT .

    NO-2 >>

    Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END.
