DTC Set Conditions

For DTC P0506:

• Under closed loop idle speed control, engine coolant temperature is more than about 171°F (77°C).
• Battery voltage is more than 10 volts.
• Power steering pressure switch is off.
• Volumetric efficiency is less than 40 percent.
• Barometric pressure is more than 11 psi (76 kPa).
• Intake air temperature is more than 14°F (-10°C).
• Time elapsed since start of previous monitoring is 25 seconds.
• Target IAC motor position is more than 100 steps.

Judgement criteria is when actual idle speed is more than 100 RPM less than the target idle speed for 12 seconds.

For DTC P0507:

• Vehicle speed has reached 0.93 MPH.
• Under closed loop idle speed control.
• Engine coolant temperature is more than 171°F (77°C).
• Battery voltage is more than 10 volts.
• Power steering pressure switch is off.
• Barometric pressure is more than 11 psi (76 kPa).
• Intake air temperature is more than 14°F (-10°C).
• Time elapsed since start of previous monitoring is 25 seconds.
• Target IAC motor position is zero steps.

Judgement criteria is when actual idle speed has continued to be more than the target idle speed by 200 RPM or more for 12 seconds, or by 300 RPM or more for 12 seconds if the maximum air temperature during the previous operation was more than 113°F (45°C).
