Test L-2: Dome Light Dimming Function Does Not Work Normally

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position and check operation of following functions:
    • Ignition key reminder tone alarm.
    • Light reminder tone alarm.
    • Central door locking system.
    • Ignition key hole illumination light.
    • Hazard warning light.
    • Anti-theft alarm system, if equipped.
If none of listed functions operate normally, check ETACS-ECU battery circuit. See O-1: ETACS-ECU POWER SUPPLY CHECK  under CIRCUIT TESTS. If any of listed functions operate normally, go to next step.
  2. Check input signals for:
    • Ignition switch (IG1).
    • Key reminder switch.
    • Door switches.
    • Driver's door lock actuator switch.
See appropriate tests in INPUT SIGNAL CHECK FUNCTION  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If input signal test shows a fault, check indicated circuit. See TEST N-2: IGNITION SWITCH IG1 CIRCUIT CHECK  , TEST N-3: KEY REMINDER SWITCH CIRCUIT CHECK  , TEST N-7: DOOR SWITCH CIRCUIT CHECK  or TEST N-9: DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR SWITCH CIRCUIT CHECK  . If input signal test is okay, replace ETACS-ECU and retest dome light dimming function.
