Test C-1: Central Door Lock System Does Not Operate

  1. Remove ETACS-ECU from junction block. Measure voltage between ground and ETACS-ECU 20-pin connector C-86 terminal No. 16 (junction block side). See Figure . If battery voltage exists, go to step  4 . If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  2. Check junction block fuse No. 11 (15-amp). If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is blown, replace fuse and retest system. If fuse blows again, locate and repair short in circuit.
  3. Check ETACS-ECU connector C-86 for loose, damaged or corroded terminals. If problem exists, repair connector as necessary and retest central door locking system. If problem does not exist, repair Red wire between junction block and fusible link No. 1 (60-amp), located in engine compartment relay box.
  4. Check ETACS-ECU connector C-86 for loose, damaged or corroded terminals. If problem exists, repair connector as necessary and retest door locking system. If problem does not exist, go to next step.
  5. Check for open or short in Blue/Black wire between ETACS-ECU connector C-86 terminal No. 17 and intermediate 32-pin connector C-68 terminal No. 25. See Figure and Fig 1 . If problem exists, repair Blue/Black wire as necessary and retest central door locking system. If problem does not exist, go to next step.
  6. Check for open or short in Blue/Red wire between ETACS-ECU connector C-86 terminal No. 6, intermediate 32-pin connector C-68 terminal No. 26, intermediate 43-pin connector C-67 terminal No. 22, intermediate 32-pin connector C-72 terminal No. 26 and intermediate 22-pin connector C-71 terminal No. 21. Figure , Fig 1 , Fig 2 and Fig 3 . If problem exists, repair Blue/Red wire as necessary and retest central door locking system. If problem does not exist, go to next step.
  7. Check for open or short in Blue/Orange wire between ETACS-ECU connector C-86 terminal No. 12, intermediate 43-pin connector C-67 terminal No. 23 and intermediate 32-pin connector C-72 terminal No. 25. See Figure and Fig 4 . If problem exists, repair Blue/Orange wire as necessary and retest central door locking system. If problem does not exist, replace ETACS-ECU and retest central door locking system.
