Test B-1: Ignition Key Tone Alarm Function Does Not Operate Normally

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Check operation of following functions:
    • Light reminder tone alarm function.
    • Ignition keyhole illumination light.
    • Central door locking system.
    • Hazard warning light.
    • Dome light dimming function.
    • Anti-theft alarm system, if equipped.

    If any functions operate, go to next step. If no functions operate, check ETACS-ECU power supply. See O-1: ETACS-ECU POWER SUPPLY CHECK  under CIRCUIT TESTS.

  2. Check input signals for:
    • Ignition switch (IG1).
    • Key reminder switch.
    • Driver's door switch.

    See appropriate tests in INPUT SIGNAL CHECK FUNCTION  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If input signal test shows a fault, repair indicated circuit. If input signal test is okay, replace ETACS-ECU.
