EGR Valve

  1. Remove EGR valve. Check for deposits or sticking. Clean as necessary to ensure tight valve seat. Connect a hand vacuum pump to valve nipple. Plug second nipple (if equipped). Apply 19.4 in. Hg vacuum. Valve should hold vacuum.
  2. Apply 6.7 in. Hg vacuum. Blow through EGR passage. Air should pass. Reduce vacuum to 2.3 in. Hg or less. Blow through passage. Valve should not pass air.
