61 13... Repairing Airbag Leads (Build Date/Version Affected 04/2008 To 07/2008)

Switch off the ignition!
Necessary preliminary tasks: Move driver's seat/front passenger seat fully back and upwards.
Unlock plug connections (1) and disconnect. Unplug connector plug (2).
Release cable strap (1). Unlock cap (2) on both sides and pull out in direction of arrow. Installation note: Secure wiring harness for tension relief with cable strap on connector housing.
Strip insulation (1) and disconnect cables in accordance with table.

Cut cable (1) with BMW-recommended insulation strippers and strip insulation. Dimension A = 11 cm.
Cut repair cable (1) with BMW-recommended insulation strippers and strip insulation. Cut repair wiring harness 11 cm. Dimension A = 11 cm.
Connect repair cable (1) with butt connector to vehicle wiring harness. Universal matrix 61 4 328. Pliers 61 4 321.
Slide heat-shrink tubing (1) over ignition circuit leads (2).
With hot air blower, shrink the heat-shrink tubing on both sides of heat-shrink tubing until glue emerges uniformly all round.
Connect ignition circuit lead (1) with special tool 61 0 327 in accordance with table.
