SUBJECT
Bonnet Lock Difficult to Open or Close
SITUATION
The bonnet lock fails to operate correctly and is difficult to open or close.
CAUSE
Corrosion in the bonnet lock assembly
PROCEDURE
Confirm the bonnet does not open or close correctly, and proceed to the next step.
Inspect both locks for corrosion in the pawl (1) and/or the claw (2), and the pivot (3). If corrosion in any of these areas restricts free movement of the lock, it must be replaced.
