11 00 050 Removing and installing engine (N14)

Special tools required:

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove EXHAUST SYSTEM .
Drain ENGINE OIL .
Disconnect NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE .
Remove both drive shafts. See REMOVING/INSTALLING LEFT OUTPUT SHAFT and REMOVING/INSTALLING RIGHT OUTPUT SHAFT .
Remove AIR CLEANER HOUSING .
Detach all coolant hoses from engine.
Detach vacuum line from brake booster.
Unfasten ENGINE WIRING HARNESS and lay to one side.
Remove complete FRONT PANEL

Attach special tool 11 0 260 to lifting eye (1) on engine.

NOTE: Pictures show N12.

Attach special tool 11 0 260 to lifting eye (1) at transmission end.

NOTE: Pictures show N12.

Remove engine with special tool 11 0 260 towards front.

Assemble engine.

Check function of DME.
