SUBJECT
IHKA Intermittently Doesn't Switch On
SITUATION
Intermittently the IHKA does not switch on until the ignition is cycled.
CAUSE
Poor ground
PROCEDURE
- Identify the ground wire (pin 26.5 BR/SW) from IHKA control module connector X610.
- This wire is routed through 2 separate splice points.
- Route a dedicated ground wire to ground point X13230 located near the drivers door-opening sill.
- Retest the system for proper operation.
No additional IHKA control modules are needed for analysis. Do not replace any parts.
