Transaxle Case - Disassembly: Disassembly

Remove and discard the O-ring seal from the feed tube.

Remove the secondary variator feed tube from the case.

Remove and discard the O-ring seal from the secondary feed tube.

Remove the manual valve assembly feed tube.

Remove and discard the O-ring seals from the manual valve feed tube.

NOTE: The park assembly will only need to be disassembled if damage to the park components is indicated, or if the primary variator feed tube is plugged or shows signs of damage and a new tube needs to be installed.

If necessary, remove the park rod assembly.
1. Hold the park pawl back.
2. Lift the park rod away from the park pawl.
3. Slide the park rod and manual lever out of the case.

If necessary, use a magnet to remove the guide pin for the park pawl.

If necessary, remove the park pawl and the park pawl spring.

If the park system has been removed, remove the primary variator bearing cover plate.

If the park system has been removed, remove the primary variator feed tube from the case.

If the park system has been removed, remove and discard the O-ring seal for the primary variator feed tube.

If the park system has not been removed and the installation of a new bearing is required, remove the primary variator bearing cover plate.

Remove the secondary variator bearing cover plate.

Using the special tool and a press, remove the primary variator bearing.

Using the special tool and a press, remove the secondary variator bearing.

Using a punch, remove the differential seal.

Install the special tool just under the bearing race.

Using a brass punch and the special tool, remove the bearing race.

NOTE: Note the location of the manual control lever for assembly.

NOTE: Make sure that the manual control lever is in the PARK position.

Remove and discard the roll pin, then remove the outer manual lever.

Clean and inspect the case assembly for damage, if any damage is indicated install new parts as necessary.
