Output Shaft: Disassembly
CAUTION:
The inner synchronizer ring and the synchronizer cone must be handled very carefully.
NOTE:
General view of the output shaft. For additional information, refer to MANUAL TRANSAXLE .
NOTE:
If there any new installation of bearings, shafts or the transaxle housings is necessary, the transaxle must be shimmed.
- Using the special tool, remove the taper roller bearing.
- Remove the reverse gear wheel.
- Reverse gear wheel

- Synchronizer ring
- Remove the fifth/reverse gear synchronizer assembly.
- Snap ring
- Synchronizer assembly
- Remove the fifth gear wheel.
- Synchronizer ring
- Fifth gear wheel
- Bearing
- Using the special tool, pull the taper roller bearing off the output shaft.
- Using the special tool, remove the output pinion and first gear.
- Remove the snap ring.
- Remove the output pinion and first gear wheel together.
- Remove the double synchronizer.
- Needle roller bearing

- Remove the first/second gear synchronizer assembly.
- Snap ring
- Synchronizer assembly
- Remove the double synchronizer together with the second gear wheel.
- Outer synchronizer ring

- Needle roller bearing
CAUTION:
Note the marks on the output pinion for reinstallation. The output shaft and output pinion belong together and can only be installed new as a pair.
