Removal & Installation

Remove lower intake manifold. See INTAKE MANIFOLD under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION under 4.2L - VIN 2 under MECHANICAL in ENGINES. Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) is located on right side of engine. See SOLENOIDS & SOLENOID VALVES in COMPONENT LOCATOR article in ELECTRICAL. Disconnect the IMRC actuating links. Remove the 3 bolts retaining IMRC and remove IMRC. To install, rotate motor driver plate by pulling linkages inward until levers make contact with set screws. Install IMRC actuator and the 3 bolts. Connect IMRC actuating links using NEW plastic retainers. Install lower intake manifold. See INTAKE MANIFOLD under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION under 4.2L - VIN 2 under MECHANICAL in ENGINES.
