Test B: Unable To Enter Central Security Module Self-Test

NOTE: Central Security Module (CSM) may also be referred to as anti-theft/central locking module.
  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Open driver's and passenger's doors. Using New Generation Star (NGS) tester, perform Central Security Module (CSM) self-test. If unable to enter central security module self-test, go to next step. If central security module entered self-test, problem is intermittent.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect CSM Green 16-pin connector C451a. Disconnect Central Junction Block (CJB) 4-pin connector C362. See Figure . Measure resistance between CSM connector C451a terminal No. 10 (Green/White wire) and CJB connector C362 terminal No. 3 (Green/White wire and/or Green/Black wire). See Figure and Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Green/White wire between CSM and in-line connector C58 and/or repair open in Green/Black wire between in-line connector C58 and CJB. See Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between ground and backprobe Green/Blue wire terminal(s) of CJB 10-pin connector C372. See Figure . If reading is greater than 10 volts, replace CSM. If reading is less than 10 volts, repair open or short to ground in Green/Blue wire.
