Fuel Tank: Installation

  1. Align fuel tank straps and install fuel tank strap hinges and spring clip.
    2. NOTE: An assistant may be necessary to install fuel tank.
  2. Raise and align fuel tank to bottom of vehicle.
  3. Place a suitable jack under fuel tank to support it.
  4. Place fuel tank straps under fuel tank and install fuel tank strap bolts. See Fig 3 . Tighten fuel tank strap bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  5. Connect fuel supply and return lines and tighten hose clamps. See Fig 1 .
  6. Connect vapor separator hose and align clamp. See Figure
  7. Connect filler neck hose, then align and tighten clamp.
  8. Connect fuel pump electrical connector. See Fig 2

  9. Connect roller/vent valve-to-carbon canister hose and align clamp.
  10. Align fuel tank front protector and install three fuel tank front protector bolts and two retaining pins. Tighten three fuel tank front protector bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  11. Lower vehicle.
  12. Replace fuel that was removed prior to fuel tank removal.
  13. Connect negative battery cable.
