Control Head: Replacement

  1. Disconnect battery ground cable and remove radio knobs from control shafts. On Town Car and Mark VI, remove steering column cover and center finish panel. On all models, open ashtray and remove screws attaching finish panels to ashtray opening.
  2. Remove upper finish panel retaining screws (if necessary) and remove or pull out trim panel to gain access to control assembly mounting screws. Remove 4 screws and pull control head from opening. Disconnect electrical connections, vacuum harness and temperature control cable from control head. To install, reverse removal procedure and push on vacuum harness retaining nut.
