General 

The coolant circulation pump for transmission oil cooling ensures that a constant flow of coolant is delivered through the transmission oil heat exchanger or cooling duct in the dual-clutch transmission (in dual-clutch transmissions without transmission oil heat exchanger).

The transmission oil cooling coolant circulation pump is located in the area of the combustion engine.

Function 

Dual-clutch transmission with transmission oil heat exchanger: The heated transmission oil is delivered through the feed into the transmission oil heat exchanger and routed further into the inside of the transmission oil heat exchanger through ducts.

Dual-clutch transmission without transmission oil heat exchanger: The heated transmission oil is delivered to the dual-clutch transmission and routed inside through the cooling ducts.

A constant stream of coolant passes the ducts, which absorbs the waste heat and dissipates it into the coolant circuit.

The coolant flow is regulated according to requirements via the transmission oil cooling coolant circulation pump by the powertrain control unit.

Dual-clutch transmission with transmission oil heat exchanger: The transmission oil returns from the transmission oil heat exchanger to the dual-clutch transmission.

The transmission oil temperature is detected by the dual clutch transmission oil temperature sensor of the electrohydraulic controller unit for fully integrated transmission control of the dual-clutch transmission or by the dual-clutch transmission control unit.
