Remove/Install Fuel Level Sensor - AR47.50-P-0110MNB

Model 190 With Engine 178

DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contact with fuel. No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers only.
Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

  Preparatory activity     
1 Position air extraction system for benzene fumes in working area and switch on.    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS     WS47.00-P-0039B 
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
2 Empty the fuel tank.   AR47.10-P-4001MNB 
3 Remove fuel filter.    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE     AP47.20-P-0780B 
4 Unclip fuel level sensor (1) from the swirl pot (2) (arrows) and pull out upwards.    
5 Install in the reverse order.    
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when Engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the Engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
6 Perform an Engine test run and check for leaktightness in fuel system and for proper operation of fuel level display. NOTES
If there is leakage, determine and eliminate the cause.
Malfunctions and environmental damage will occur otherwise.
 
  Finishing activity     
7 Switch off air extraction system for benzene fumes and remove from working area.    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS     WS47.00-P-0039B 
8 Read out fault memory using the diagnostic system and clear it if necessary.
