Theft protection and locking, general 

The theft protection and locking function description comprises the following functions described in separate documents:

• Central locking (CL [ZV]), function 
• Liftgate control, function (with CODE 890 (EASY-PACK liftgate)) 
• KEYLESS-GO function (with CODE 889 (KEYLESS-GO or with CODE 893 (KEYLESS-GO start function)) 
• Drive authorization system level 4 (DAS [FBS] 4), function 
• Convenience feature (CF), function 
• Anti-theft alarm system (ATA [EDW]), function (with CODE 551 (Anti-theft alarm system (ATA [EDW]))) 

When the transport mode is activated, the following functions are permitted by the energy management:

• Unlocking of passenger door, rear doors and liftgate using CL or liftgate control (with CODE 890 (EASY-PACK liftgate))
• Opening the panoramic sliding sunroof (with CODE 413 (Panoramic sliding sunroof))
• Opening the sliding roof (with CODE 414 (Sliding roof))

Central locking (CL [ZV]), function 

The CL electrically locks and unlocks the vehicle doors, the tailgate and the fuel filler flap.

Liftgate control, function (with CODE 890 (EASY-PACK liftgate)) 

The liftgate can be opened or closed automatically from inside and outside via the liftgate control.

KEYLESS-GO function (with CODE 889 (KEYLESS-GO or with CODE 893 (KEYLESS-GO start function)) 

The KEYLESS-GO system allows access to the vehicle and starting the vehicle engine without using the transmitter key (A8/1). It is sufficient to just carry the transmitter key.

Operation of the central locking (CL) via the transmitter key remains possible parallel to the KEYLESS-GO functions.

Drive authorization system level 4 (DAS [FBS] 4), function 

DAS 4 allows the ignition to be switched on and the engine to be started. DAS 4 is a compound system consisting of control units, each of which calculate and compare the drive authorization code independently. If the check in question is valid, each component is released automatically.

Convenience feature (CF), function 

The CF allows central opening and closing of the side windows, the sliding roof (with CODE 414 (Sliding roof)) or the panoramic sliding sunroof (with CODE 413 (Panoramic sliding sunroof)) via the transmitter key and the air recirculation mode button (N22/7s2).

Anti-theft alarm system (ATA [EDW]), function (with CODE 551 (Anti-theft alarm system (ATA [EDW]))) 

The ATA [EDW] monitors all relevant inputs after locking the vehicle. If a change of status is detected at one of the monitored inputs, an acoustic and visual alarm are issued.
