COMPLAINT
Check Engine Light/Engine does not heat up
NOTE:
Check engine light may illuminate with possible fault code: P012800 - "The coolant temperature is below the coolant thermostat specified temperature." stored in the engine control unit.
CAUSE
Various causes
REMEDY
Perform the following operations:
- Perform guided test for fault code: P012800
Strict compliance with operation steps in XENTRY/DAS is absolutely essential.
NOTE: Use Xentry/DAS version 07/2017 with AddOn 8036 or higherRegardless of the result:
Check software release of engine control unit; update if necessary
- If complaint still exists or vehicle returns with the same complaint:
- Drain coolant, check condition of coolant and take photos
- Thoroughly flush cooling system; it is essential to flush heater cooler in both directions.
- Remove coolant thermostat and document production date or take photo
- Replace coolant thermostat
NOTE: Please attach the photos, the results of the coolant check and the production date of the thermostat with the repair order/claim.
