Computer simulations are designed to provide the fleet operator with the expected performance resulting from a given set of vehicle specifications. By changing variables, the best match of components can be determined for a fleet's specific operation to meet their objectives. Various truck and engine manufacturers offer computer generated simulations. While all differ somewhat in both input and output, the information listed below in this Recommended Practice (RP) can be used as a general guideline of the type of input that is required for commercial vehicles.
