Partial load operation:

When the engine is at operating temperature, optimal exhaust emission values and low-cost fuel consumption are assured in combination with the lambda control.

Full load operation

Maximum engine torque is reached when the accelerator pedal is depressed by more than 90 %. For this purpose, the injection timing is extended accordingly and the maximum boost pressure is built up.

The particular quantity of fuel is metered to the engine in line with the performance map.

The fuel quantity depends on:

Accelerator pedal sensor position
Boost pressure
Engine speed
Engine load
Coolant temperature
Boost air temperature
Lambda control
