Control solenoid valve component description - GF27.19-P-5147GF
TRANSMISSION 722.9 in MODEL 164.1/8, 216, 221, 251.0/1 up to Model Year 8
Regelmagnetventil Bremse B2
Location
The B2 brake control solenoid valve (VGS) is mounted on the electric control unit (VGS).
The B2 brake control solenoid valve (VGS) is actuated by the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) control unit and influences the position of the B2/BR regulating valve. The pressure in the multi-disk brake B2 and pressure in the multi-disk brake BR depend on the regulating valve position and thus on the geometry of the regulating valve B2/BR. The B2 brake control solenoid valve (VGS) has a rising characteristic.
This means that the oil pressure applied in the B2/BR regulating valve increases as the actuating current increases. In limp-home mode of the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) all the control solenoid valves are de-energized. The B2 brake control solenoid valve (VGS) thus supplies no pressure.
Body
In the B2 brake control solenoid valve (VGS) a proportional solenoid converts the electrical signals from the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) control unit (Y3/8n4). The float needle can also be moved into intermediate positions as a result.
Function
The B2 brake control solenoid valve (VGS) assigns a proportional pressure to the current which is controlled by the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) control unit.
