The motor electronics (ME-SFI) fuel injection and ignition system control (engine control) for engine 156 AMG which is integrated in the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) is supplied by "Bosch" and has the internal designation "ME 9.7 AMG".
The abbreviated designation "ME 9.7 AMG" means:
M = M otronic
E = E lectronic accelerator pedal (electronic accelerator)

AMG = AMG specific hardware and software

- Inlet and exhaust camshaft position
- Alternator interface
- Knocking of engine
- Oil level
- Oil temperature
- O2 concentration upstream and downstream of the firewall catalytic converter
Further input signals the ME-SFI [ME] control unit receives via the CAN data bus (C ontroller A rea N etwork) are, for example:
