Radio reception, function

The antennas in the rear window receive high frequency (HF) signals for FM and AM (LW, KW). The music, voice, or data signals are modulated onto these HF signals. The left antenna amplifier module (A2/64) filters the radio frequency band frequencies from the received HF signals and amplifies these. The left antenna amplifier module (A2/64) then sends the amplified signals to the radio receiver.

The radio receiver demodulates the HF signals, in other words it separates the useful information (audible frequencies) from the carrier signal (inaudible). The demodulated audio signals are amplified and converted into sound signals by the vehicle loudspeakers.

The radio menu is accessed by pressing the "FM" or "AM" key. Station tuning options are:

Furthermore, the following functions are available. They appear on the radio display (A2):

Radio Data System (RDS), function (regional mode)

In addition to the radio program many radio stations (FM) transmit additional, inaudible digital information such as the station name, type of program (PTY) (e.g. pop, culture) and traffic program identification.

This information is evaluated by the radio (A2) and shown on the display if the following prerequisites are met:
