Operating Time Check of Sensotronic Brake Control (SBC) When Using XENTRY Diagnostics Version 7/2012
If XENTRY Diagnostics versions 07/2012 and 09/2012 are used, the service life check on the SBC hydraulic unit (A7/3) and traction system hydraulic unit (A7/3) may give an implausible result.
This manifests itself as follows:
- The message "Service Brake - Service Required" appears in white lettering in the display of the instrument cluster (A1).
- In the SBC control unit (A7/3n1), the fault code C249F "Check service life of component A7/3 (SBC hydraulic unit)" or C2498 "Operating time of component A7/3 (traction system hydraulic unit) has been exceed" is pending and stored.
- The service life check to be performed in this case yields the result "Component A7/3 (SBC hydraulic unit) and (traction system hydraulic unit) is OK".
- After completion of diagnosis and switching ignition OFF/ON or after a short driving time, the message "Service Brake - Service Required" reappears in white lettering in the instrument cluster (A1), and the fault code C249F or C2498 is pending and stored in the SBC control unit (A7/3n1).
To fix, install the following Xentry Diagnostics add-ons:
- for XENTRY Diagnostics version 07/2012: add-on 2484
- for XENTRY Diagnostics version 09/2012: add-on 2483
