Control unit for electronic selector lever module, task - GF27.19-P-5138-02PMZ

The electronic selector lever module control unit (N15/5) receives analog and digital signals, it then actuates various components and sends corresponding data to various control units over the Controller Area Network bus Class C (engine compartment) (CAN-C).

The selector lever positions and touch shifts carried out are detected in a non-contact manner by means of optoelectronic switches. A photoelectric barrier is closed or interrupted each time the position of the selector lever is changed.

The electronic selector lever module control unit (N15/5) is networked over CAN-C with the following control units:

• Instrument cluster (A1)
• CDI control unit (N3/9) (with diesel engine) or ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) (with gasoline engine)
• ETC [EGS] control unit (N15/3)
• ESP and BAS control unit (N47-5)
• EIS [EZS] control unit (N73)
• Steering column module (N80)

Input signals: 

• Status of transmission mode switch (S16/5)
• Circuit 87 (power supply)

The following information is received: 

• sent from ESP and BAS control unit (N47-5)
  • Wheel speed and left rear direction of rotation
  • Wheel speed and right rear direction of rotation
  • Selected braking torque
  • Brake engaged
• sent from EIS [EZS] control unit (N73)
  • Circuit 50
  • Circuit 15
  • Stop lamp actuation feedback
  • Drive authorization system (DAS [FBS]) message
• sent from steering column module (N80)
  • Status of left steering wheel gear shifter (S110/2) and right steering wheel gear shifter (S111/2)
