Test 44: Sliding Sunroof Position Test

NOTE: This procedure applies to all vehicles equipped with power sliding sunroof except CLK320 convertible models.

Connect Hand-Held Tester (HHT) to Data Link Connector (DLC) located in engine bay. Monitor overhead control panel control module readings. Turn ignition on. Ensure sunroof is closed; SLIDING ROOF CLOSED should be displayed on HHT. Press switch up to pop rear of sunroof up; POP-UP ROOF OPEN should be displayed on HHT. Open rear of sunroof to full up position; POP-UP ROOF END POSITION should be displayed on HHT. Press switch back to open sunroof; SLIDING ROOF OPEN should be displayed on HHT. Open sunroof fully; SLIDING ROOF END POSITION should be displayed on HHT. If readings are not as described, check condition of overhead control panel control module and power sunroof switch. Repair or replace as necessary. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS .
