DTC P2000: Stored In Electronic Selector Lever Module

Cause 

Braking torque transmitted by ESP control module is occasionally not logical. The Electronic Selector Lever (ESM) Module is not the cause for this DTC.

NOTE: DTC P2000 (breaking torque (CAN) transmitted by ESP control module not logical) is stored in ESM, function not negatively influenced.

Remedy 

NOTE: This is not an ESM module malfunction and replacement is not necessary. This means that the signal transmitted by the ESP control module was not logical.

If no complaint was present:

  1. 1 -  Erase DTC.
    NOTE: The DTC cannot be erased on vehicles with ESP control units 209 545 02 32 or 209 545 03 32 and simultaneously installed selector lever module with software status up to 8/01.
If complaint is present:
  1. 2 -  Process DTC in ESP. Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS read out and erase fault memory. See CONNECT STAR DIAGNOSIS AND READ OUT FAULT MEMORY in GENERAL INFORMATION article.
