ME-SFI start quantity control - function - GF07.61-P-3010SM
ENGINE 113.986
ENGINE 113.987
ENGINE 113.988
ENGINE 113.989
In order to facilitate starting of a cold engine, additional fuel must be injected during the starting procedure, depending on the coolant temperature. The increased quantity of fuel (start quantity) injected is achieved by extending the injection time.
The start quantity control is dependent on:
- Start recognition
- Coolant temperature
- Engine speed
- Engine shutoff time
- Altitude (atmospheric pressure)
The start quantity control is enabled after start recognition. It remains activated until a temperature-related engine speed is exceeded. The higher the coolant temperature, the lower is the start quantity metered by the ME-SFI control unit (N3/10).
