DTC Description
- Fault Memory & Actuation Of MIL - After 2 consecutive driving cycles with fault.
- Frequency Of Testing - Continuous.
- Checked Signal Or Status - Limit values of engine coolant temperature plausibility.
- Lower Limit Value - More than 80 k/ohms (approximately -38°F (-39°C).
- Upper Limit Value - Less than 45 ohms (approximately 338°F (170°C).
- Plausibility - Temperature increase after a cold start is compared with a stored temperature model (performance map). Depending on starting temperature and engine speed at least 59°F (15°C) must be reached after approximately 2-20 minutes.
NOTE:
If a fault is present with vehicle running, a substitute value from the temperature model is used. If coolant temperature signal becomes plausible, a changeover is made to the signal from the coolant temperature sensor.
