SERVICE INFORMATION
39/00-2 GROUP 82 - MODELS 203, 208, 210, 215 AND 220, VARIOUS OPERATIONAL FAULTS IN THE COMAND NAVIGATION SYSTEM: Due to a large quantity of data on the navigation CD, a small amount of dirt or residue on the navigation CD (e.g. fingerprints etc.) is sufficient to cause the following symptoms; route planner takes too long, map display is incomplete, route is not indicated in blue on the map, after destination is entered and confirmed the screen jumps back to the destination input basic menu, "No route" appears in the display, etc.
To prevent these symptoms, clean the navigation CD with an approved CD cleaning solution. Start from the center of the CD and work toward the outside in straight strokes; DO NOT WIPE IN A CIRCULAR FASHION. Wipe the CD with a dry lint free cloth. Please advise clients on proper CD handling techniques.
