SERVICE INFORMATION

46/99-2 GROUP 82 - MODEL YEAR 00, 208, 210 AND 220, COMAND CDs: Vehicles equipped with COMAND unit part no/ 220 820 72 26 (220), 210 820 49 89 (210) or 208 820 31 89 (208) will not accept map CD's with versions earlier than 8/99. CD part numbers affected are:

If an old CD is installed in a new system, the message "CD-Reading error. Please change CD." will appear.

Repair Action: If you receive the above reference message after installing a CD, check the CD version. The CD version is indicated on the right side of the disc just above the center line and is labeled as "Bosch rel. M/YY" (M = month and YY = year). If the version is 7/99 or earlier, return the disc to your facing PDC and order a replacement.
