COMPLAINT

The navigation DVD NTG1 version 6.0 or higher is not recognized during the map update process in the navigation processor (N41/1).

NOTE: The navigation processor (N41/1) was previously operated with navigation DVD 3.0 (software 07/04).

CAUSE

Software in navigation processor (N41/1)

REMEDY

Update the navigation processor (N41/1) using the Software Service Update CD (see parts note).

Update process:

Activate COMAND by switching on ignition and press NAV button.
Remove navigation DVD from navigation processor (N41/1) in trunk.
Insert Service CD. The update starts automatically.
The update finishes after approx. 2 minutes and the basic navigation screen is displayed.
Remove the Service CD and insert the new navigation DVD in the navigation processor (N41/1). The update of the map data starts automatically.
When the update is complete, switch off ignition, lock the vehicle and wait for bus sleep. Please wait until the instrument cluster (A1) shuts down.
Activate COMAND by switching on ignition and check navigation functions.
