  Passenger Airbag - Task The passenger airbag serves to protect the passenger in the event of a head-on collision.  
  Passenger Airbag - Design The airbag module consists of the bag itself and an inflator with detonator. The bag is made of an uncoated and recyclable polyamide fabric and has a volume of 140 liters when inflated. A check strap limits the expansion of the airbag during deployment and controls its rate of inflation.
