Task

To limit the injection quantity at full load.

Function

The IFI [ERE] control module (N3/7) receives the required signals from the components listed below and limits the fuel quantity via the fuel quantity actuator (IFI [ERE]) (Y23/1) and the control rod. This prevents bursts of smoke from being produced during acceleration.

Malfunctions in the following components and subsystems further reduce the full-load injection quantity:

Crankshaft position sensor (L5/6)
Accelerator pedal position sensor (R25/2)
Electrohydraulic shutoff actuator (IFI [ERE]) (Y1/1)
Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR [ARF]) control
Intake air pressure control
