Hydraulic System Pressure Testing (Standard Pump)
- Drain reservoir with a syringe. Pinch off supply line of reservoir. Disconnect high pressure hydraulic line from pump. Using appropriate adaptor Connector (124 589 19 63 00 or 140 589 17 63 00), connector Tester (124 589 06 21 00) between high pressure hose and power steering pump. Unpinch supply line hose. Fill reservoir.
- Ensure vehicle is in Park and parking brake is applied. Start engine. Briefly run engine to 1000 RPM. Check and record maximum pressure. Verify pressures by model. See POWER STEERING PUMP PRESSURE table. If pump pressure is not as specified, replace power steering pump.
