Diagnostic Module (California Only)

The diagnostic module is color-coded Purple and located in module box in right rear corner of engine compartment. See Figure . Voltage for diagnostic module is supplied from base module. Base module is color-coded Black and located in module box in right rear corner of engine compartment. The diagnostic module monitors emission related signals and systems. If a malfunction exists, MIL is illuminated. When MIL is illuminated, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) is stored in diagnostic module memory. The diagnostic module receives all required data for monitoring signals and systems through Controller Area Network (CAN) from LH control unit, EZL/AKR ignition control unit, ABS/ASR control unit and electronic accelerator control module or cruise control/idle speed control module.
