Visual inspection

Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
Remove the exhaust gas pressure sensor. (See EGR PRESSURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [H3T] ).
Visually inspect the exhaust gas pressure sensor for the following malfunction:
- Damage, cracks, dirt
  - If there is any malfunction, repair or replace the exhaust gas pressure sensor. (See EGR PRESSURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [H3T] ).
