Steering Wheel Cover Removal/Installation: Notes
WARNING:
- Handling the driver-side air bag module improperly can accidentally deploy the air bag module, which may seriously injure you. - Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)

- Remove the steering wheel. (See STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the steering shift switch. (With steering shift switch) (See STEERING SHIFT SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SJ6A-EL] .)
- Using a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver, press tabs A of the steering wheel cover in the direction of the arrows shown in the figure to detach tabs A from the steering wheel.
- Pull the part of the steering wheel cover near tabs B in the order of (1), (2), (3) and detach them.
- Remove the steering wheel cover from the steering wheel. (See STEERING WHEEL COVER INSTALLATION NOTE .)
- Remove the wiring harnesses and clips of the steering shift switch from the steering wheel cover. (With steering shift switch) (See STEERING SHIFT SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SJ6A-EL] .)
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
