Steering Gear And Linkage Disassembly: Notes
CAUTION:
- To prevent damage to the steering gear, secure it to the vise using a copper plate or clean cloth.
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Remove the front under cover. (See FRONT UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Disconnect the intermediate shaft from the steering gear and linkage. (See INTERMEDIATE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the steering gear and linkage. (See STEERING GEAR AND LINKAGE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Disassemble in the order indicated in the illustration.PART DESCRIPTION
