Parking Sensor System Does Not Operate: Notes

NOTE:
  • If there is any vehicle malfunction complaint lodged by a customer, perform FOREWORD malfunction diagnosis according to the troubleshooting procedure. (See FOREWORD .)
PARKING SENSOR SYSTEM DOES NOT OPERATE DESCRIPTION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

Item PARKING SENSOR SYSTEM DOES NOT OPERATE
Description
  • Even if the parking sensor switch is turned on, the parking sensor buzzer is not activated.
Possible Causes
  • Control is inhibited because the trailer switch (option) is installed on the vehicle and the trailer switch (option) is turned on.
  • Short circuit to ground in the circuit between parking assist unit terminal R and the trailer switch (option)
  • Cluster switch connector or terminal malfunction
  • Parking assist unit connector or terminal malfunction
  • Short to ground in wiring harness between the following terminals:
  • Cluster switch terminal A-Parking assist unit terminal V
  • Cluster switch malfunction
  • Parking sensor switch malfunction
  • Parking assist unit malfunction
