DTC P0523-00: Engine Oil Pressure Sensor Circuit High Input: Outline

DTC P0523:00 (PCM, SKYACTIV-G) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Engine oil pressure sensor circuit high input
Detection condition
  • If the input voltage at the PCM terminal 1AS is more than 4.7 V for 2 s, the PCM determines that the engine oil pressure sensor circuit is high.

    Precondition

  • Battery voltage: 8-20 V
  • 0.5 s have elapsed after the ignition was switched ON (engine off or on)
Fail-safe
  • Limits the engine torque or the upper limit of the engine speed.
Possible cause
  • Engine oil temperature sensor/engine oil pressure sensor connector or terminals malfunction
  • PCM connector or terminals malfunction
  • Short to power supply in engine oil pressure sensor signal circuit
  • Short circuit in engine oil pressure sensor power supply circuit and signal circuit
  • Open circuit in any of the following engine oil pressure sensor circuits.
    • Signal circuit
      • Ground circuit
  • Engine oil pressure sensor malfunction
  • PCM malfunction
