DTC P0523-00: Engine Oil Pressure Sensor Circuit High Input: Outline

DTC P0523:00 (PCM, SKYACTIV-G) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location	Engine oil pressure sensor circuit high input
Detection condition	If the input voltage at the PCM terminal 1AS is more than 4.7 V for 2 s, the PCM determines that the engine oil pressure sensor circuit is high. Precondition Battery voltage: 8-20 V 0.5 s have elapsed after the ignition was switched ON (engine off or on)
Fail-safe	Limits the engine torque or the upper limit of the engine speed.
Possible cause	Engine oil temperature sensor/engine oil pressure sensor connector or terminals malfunction PCM connector or terminals malfunction Short to power supply in engine oil pressure sensor signal circuit Short circuit in engine oil pressure sensor power supply circuit and signal circuit Open circuit in any of the following engine oil pressure sensor circuits. Signal circuit Ground circuit Engine oil pressure sensor malfunction PCM malfunction
